Upcoming Community Plan Workshops

Are you a resident of Hayfork, Hyampom, Post Mountain or Trinity Center? On April 9th and 10th, 2024, the General Plan Update Team will be hosting community workshops to discuss the Community Plans being prepared as part of the countywide General Plan Update. The input gathered at these workshops will be used to create unique goals, policies, and priorities for each community that will guide future growth.

March 2024 Events

Community Plan Visioning Workshops and Project Updates - March 2023

Throughout March, the General Plan Update Team held community workshops in Douglas City, Lewiston, Junction City, and Weaverville to gather input on each community's long-term visions. The feedback gathered from these workshops will be used to create vision statements for each community that reflect their unique values and desires for their future. Following this, the General Plan Update Team will use these vision statements to craft goals, policies, and priorities for each community that will guide future growth. This meeting was a follow-up to the November 2022 Community Workshops.

December 2023 Events

Board of Supervisors to Discuss Vision and Guiding Principles and Community Plan Boundaries - December 5, 2023

The County Board of Supervisors reviewed Planning Commission recommendations on the draft countywide Vision and Guiding Principles and determined which communities will have a community plan or area plan prepared as part of the General Plan Update process, as well as the boundaries for those plans. This meeting was a follow-up to the October 3rd Board of Supervisors meeting.

November 2022 Events

November Community Workshop Series

During the first week of November, the General Plan Update Team held 10 community workshops across Trinity County, collecting over 350 pages of comments from residents along the way. We learned more about what makes each of your communities unique and identified opportunities to improve the future of your communities. Your feedback will be used to create future community engagement events and as the foundation for developing community plans and a holistic countywide General Plan.

June 2022 Events

Workshop #1

On June 7, 2022 at 6 PM, a Workshop was held at the Trinity Alps Performing Center in Weaverville to provide an overview of the General Plan Update, relay opportunities to get involved in the process, collect input on issues and opportunities that should be addressed through the Plan, and receive initial feedback on a countywide vision for Trinity County through 2050.

June 7 Board of Supervisors Meeting

On June 7, 2022 at 9 AM, a Board of Supervisors Meeting was held at the Trinity County Public Library in Weaverville. As a part of the meeting, a presentation was given to provide an overview of the comprehensive General Plan Update.

July 2022 Events

July 14 Planning Commission Meeting

On July 14, 2022 at 5 PM, a Planning Commission Meeting was held at the Trinity County Public Library in Weaverville. As a part of the meeting, a presentation was given to provide an overview of the comprehensive General Plan Update.



County Fair Booth

On July 14 through July 17, the Trinity County Planning Department operated the General Plan Update booth at the County Fair in Hayfork. The booth provided an overview of the General Plan Update, relayed opportunities to get involved in the process, collected input on issues and opportunities that should be addressed through the Plan, and provided opportunities for kids to win prizes.
