The vision and guiding principles were developed based on input and direction from residents, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Supervisors and will guide the development of the County’s General Plan update. The Countywide guiding principles cover topics such as hazards and safety, community health and services, land use and housing, mobility and infrastructure, watersheds and natural resources, and economic development.

The Background Report provides a comprehensive summary of current trends and conditions in Trinity County. The Report gives a detailed description of a range of topics and provides decision-makers, residents, and public agencies with context to draft policies for the 2050 General Plan. The Background Report also serves as the Environmental Setting section of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the General Plan Update.

During the first week of November, the General Plan Update Team held 10 community workshops across Trinity County, collecting over 350 pages of comments from residents along the way. We learned more about what makes each of your communities unique and identified opportunities to improve the future of your communities. Your feedback will be used to create future community engagement events and as the foundation for developing community plans and a holistic countywide General Plan.
