Draft Community Plans Now Available!


Lewiston and Junction City

The Draft Lewiston Community Plan and Draft Juntion City Community Plan are now available for public review!

The draft community plans provide an overview of the community history and existing conditions including demographics, natural resources, environmental hazards, land use, zoning, utilities and infrastructure, and open space. The community plans will eventually include a community vision, goals, and policies that will be developed through a series of community workshops this Spring (2024).

Community Input: On Monday, March 4th, 2024, the General Plan Update Team will be hosting community workshops to discuss the Draft Lewiston Community Plan and Draft Junction City Community Plan and develop unique goals, policies, and priorities for each community.

NOTE: Draft community plans for Weaverville, Douglas City, Hayfork, Hyampom, Post Mountain, and Trinity Center will be released in the next couple months. Check back soon!

Upcoming Community Plan Workshops

Are you a resident of Lewiston or Junction City? On Monday, March 4th, 2024, the General Plan Update Team will be hosting community workshops to discuss the Lewiston Community Plan and Junction City Community Plan being prepared as part of the countywide General Plan Update. The input gathered at these workshops will be used to create unique goals, policies, and priorities for each community that will guide future growth.

FINALIZED VISION AND GUIDING PRINCIPLES NOW AVAILABLE!

The Vision and Guiding Principles for the 2050 Trinity County General Plan Update is now available!

The vision and guiding principles were developed based on input and direction from residents, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Supervisors and will guide the development of the County’s General Plan update. The Countywide guiding principles cover topics such as hazards and safety, community health and services, land use and housing, mobility and infrastructure, watersheds and natural resources, and economic development.

Through this process, the County and its consultants (General Plan Team), with input from the public and stakeholders, will consider new, pertinent topics, such as climate change and resiliency, environmental justice, and public health, to ensure Trinity County is positioned to achieve its vision for the future.

As the Update progresses, this website will be a primary source for information. Please check back regularly for drafts of project documents and opportunities to engage in the Update process – including dates and times of events and meetings.
